In the words of the late great Cal Worthington...

"If Lucas Vigor ever shows up for a Surf show at the pier then I'll eat a bug !!"

I'd stand on my head, till my ears turn red.

John O, I think you are going to have to make Bug eating one of your next road trips/tours! AND I want pictures!

I am waiting! :)

The world stopped for an hour,
Then he left, as he rode in.
Without a sound.

I think John O ate a balut (duck fetus) last week at Tiki Ti for Poly Pop's birthday. That should count as something. :)

Nope. We eat those all the time in my house! Doesn't count!

I am thinking a nice, fat and juicy waterbug!

:)

Kudos for Jeff in putting this thing on. From what I heard and saw, the sound quality and mix of the bands was excellent, club quality....and Jeff was working his butt off moving equipment for all the bands on and off the stage...you just don't see that kind of effort from people usually...but jeff did it. You can see jeff puts a personal interest in every thing he does....basically, in management we say "run it like you own it" and that's jeff in a nutshell.

Though I was hoping Insect Surfers would play earlier before I had to leave, i was able to catch Slacktone.....totally amazing band, (and I don't even like the surf music much)....but as with Insect Surfers, I could listen to them all day anyway.

Lucas,
How long were ya there?
30 min.?

I know, I know, you had lots to do that day.

Ill put it to you this way: I don't even go see bands in styles I LIKE.

From 1982 to about 1997, I went to literally hundreds of shows, concerts, clubs.

Once you are married with children, things change. Responsibilities change and your time is no longer your own, and when you have some down time or a day off...fighting for parking is not something I even have the energy for.

But jeff, as I said in my post before...you do run a great event, and you always seem to have the best bands in surf appear...kudos for that...

at least I am consistent. One of my favorite artists in the world is Sergio Mendes...he was just here recently performing at the hollywood bowl....I didn't go. Likewise, they had the catalina jazz fest with most of the top smooth jazz bands...didn't go to that earlier...so try not to take things personally!
