It appears to be a "Pacific Northwest Indian" design and not Tiki |

Don't let these guys yank your chain too much. It's a Tiki mug. The glaze job is unfortunate, hence the Party City quips, but it's still a Tiki mug. These are commonly referred to as Nubby Headdress Mugs. There are a lot of hobbyist versions out there and they are still being made. Here's a new one that was just put up on E-bay: |

That is Ku, as Tiki as Tiki gets! It isn't Pacific Northwest Indian (although there are a few of those around). I see these mugs in this coloration often, I don't think it's a hobbyist version. Are there any markings on the bottom? |

ATP, are you sure you aren't thinking of this guy? This mug was produced by it's designer for many years in Washington. It was also ripped of by Victoria Ceramics in Japan and sold in Canada. aloha, tikicoma |

No, but that is the most available of the vintage "Totem" mugs I can't argue that it was originally a Tiki design, but it showed up |
