Nice piece! Love your striping & you really nailed that "crazy-like a fox"/crosseyed look on the Colonel too. Am I the only one that always confused the string tie thing and saw it as a cartoony "body" on his huge head?

Thanks all. Yeah, come to think of it, he did look kind of big-headed and was a little cross-eyed, I guess... hmmmph (ha). It's 18" x 19" on black baked enamel aluminum with rounded corners.

As for me, I kind of like Church's chicken now and again. Maybe I should've painted LaWanda "Aunt Esther" Page...

Yeah, sam that is cool. I dig the pinstripe look. Have you ever done any cars? A Bob's big boy would be a cool icon to mess around with too.

Yeah, I've done quite a few cars, motorcycles and boats (and helmets or anything else that can be striped). I really do like the Big Boy icon too. In fact, I have one of those old Big Boy figure banks up on our cabinets. I may do something with him on it because I've always liked the character.

That Colonel Sanders soundbite never gets old either - always brings a laugh with it.

Dayton Allen, 85, a comedian and actor who lent his voice to a variety of
characters on the original "Howdy Doody Show" and was the voice of the
cartoon character Deputy Dawg, died Thursday of complications from a stroke
in Hendersonville, N.C.

Born in New York City, Allen worked as a radio disc jockey and comedian,
and as a writer of comedy bits for vaudeville. In the 1950s, he spent four
years on television with Buffalo Bob Smith, the host of the original "Howdy
Doody Show." Allen provided the voices for such puppet characters as
Phineas T. Bluster and Flub-a-Dub and on-camera characters such as Pierre
the Chef.

Perhaps his most notable voice work, however, came during his long
association with the cartoon studio Terrytoons. He provided most of the
voices for "The Deputy Dawg Show," a syndicated series that debuted in
1960. He was also the voice of the cartoon magpies Heckle and Jeckle, and
many other characters.

He was also a regular on "The Steve Allen Show," where he often played a
bogus expert or had roles in comic "Man on the Street" interviews.
