Description:
The Club Bali was located between 7th & 8th Streets, on Biscayne Blvd. in Miami. It was a popular nightspot in the 1940's, with 2 orchestras & 3 shows nightly. Here's what a postcard had to say: "CLUB BALI – Miami's Most Glamorous Atmosphere – Rendezvous of Entertainment and Splendor. Whether or not you've gone to Bali, it's here in all its splendor and South Sea charm. CLUB BALI presets the best talent and entertainment. Three shows nightly. Delicious dishes and palate-pleasing beverages. Toe-teasing tunes by two orchestras make a pleasant trio in the exotic setting. Open all year. Air conditioned."

I have a few more matchbook types from the Club Bali in Miami.

An here is an old ad with some nice images of the interior.

And a nice napkin.

A few photos of the interior.

The Club Bali had a bad fire in 1948

There was another Club Bali located in Philadelphia that appears to have been a sister restaurant.

There was also a Club Bali in Washington DC that was a hot Jazz club.

(Louis Armstrong)

As well as a Club Bali in Detroit.

And New Orleans.

Now that's a lot of Bali!

What an eyeful of paper ephemera! Thanks, DC!

Here's the souvenir photo taken of my wife's grandparents at the Club Bali. My wife's grandfather (right) is wearing his U.S. Coast Guard uniform (and is aged about 19-20), so this picture was most likely taken shortly after they were married in Hollywood, Fl in April 1943. He was stationed here during World War II.

Update: This may even be the celebratory post-wedding dinner, as the other couple in the photo were the best man and maid of honor.
