Just showing off my finished bar top. It starts with the finished top and then shows how it was made. I hope everyone enjoys it. More pictures of the entire bar will be to follow when it is done. Keep an eye out for Blake's Bahooka in the Home Bar section.

Planks of staggered Red oak glued together

Flush trimmed with router 3 layers of bartop

Cut out pattern of river with a jigsaw (same pattern but back 2 inches was cut on middle board to for channel for LED strips

Blue veneer for water effect

All 3 layers together (notice small channel in 2nd layer

building up layers of silicone to make mold for when I pour epoxy

stained wood with water based black cherry stain

1st layer of aeromarine 300/21 epoxy used a total of 12 gallons total!

added glass rocks, moai acrylic heads, etc during different pours to give it multilayered effect

glow in the dark tiki figure embedded at end of river

aku aku and stardust casino token in river too

finished product after 3 flood coats and let it cure for 1 week

flipped over bar top and routed from underside along river predrawn to open up empty channel

Had to pull out silicone so LED lights would shine through (didn't bind epoxy, but was hard to get off the wood.)
I used a dremel saw to cut right down on top of silicone and then pulled it off

Adding LED lights (Phillips HUE lighting) from underside, then put onto baseboard on bar

And you wanted to do a Marble bar top.
Turned out great!
can't wait to see it in person.

"epoxy used a total of 12 gallons total!"

Wow! so a gold bar top would have cost less than this one.

Ok so Ol Tikiskip and the wife along with wentiki and her husband Rob
went to Blake's Bahooka over the weekend to check out the new bar.
Blake also has lots of Kahiki items as well.
Need to get you one of those photos of Bill Sapp and Lee henry at the Kahiki.

WOW! Blake did a great job!
First he had lots o food and drinks Blake has become a very good bartender.
We all had a great time, thank you Blake and Kate.
It's hard to get these bars on film without a good set up so did the best I could with time
and equip had at the time.
What you can't see is Blake has tons of mugs from old to new and the cutouts on the wall and one port
hole have not only light from behind but bubbles that float up from back of glass as well,
very cool trick.
Also did not photo port hole trash can lid on top of bar a handy trick too.
Here's the pics......

Great room. Amazing job on the bar top. Looking at this picture, I was wondering where you got the lamp, on the right. I sold one on ebay a few years ago & I think it went to Ohio.

Thanks for all the kind comments. Yes, the lamp is in Columbus, Ohio. I'm still finishing some of the small touches (trim work, etc), and then I'll post a bunch of pictures of the entire bar in the home bar section under "Blake's Bahooka".
