Honolulu Cocktail-gin based

The Honolulu Cocktail was one of the signature cocktails in 1930's Hollywood at the Brown Derby.

INGREDIENTS

2 ounces gin
1/2 ounce pineapple juice
1/2 ounce orange juice
1/4 ounce lemon juice
1/4 ounce simple syrup
Dash of Angostura bitters
Lemon spiral for garnish
Super-fine sugar for rimming

PREPARATION

Rim a cocktail glass with sugar.
Pour the ingredients into a chilled cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Shake well.
Strain into the prepared glass.
Garnish with a lemon twist.

It must be some kind of amazing gin to stand up to all that juice!

I’ve been thinking of using a botanical gin such as St, George or # 209. Might totally change the original drink though.
