What should I make with my last 2-3 oz of Havana Club?

Ok - I have a ten year old bottle of Havana Club rum down to its last 2-3oz. Besides drinking it neat, what should I make?

No crazy drink names unless you can support it with a recipe, and preference to cocktails with 3-5 max. ingredients. GO!

Mr. Ho- do you mean the rum is aged ten years, or your bottle is a dusty ten year old bottle?

in any event, if you don't wish to consume the rum neat, then I would recommend a Hemingway daiquiri aka Papa Dobles.

A

I'm unsure - Which Havana Club rum is it?

MH

Good questions

Dusty bottle that is 10 years old. Its the "Anejo Especial" gold rum.

Daiquiris naturally were used to consume a good portion of this bottle

It may top your ingredient limit, but you can't go wrong with this:

Big Bamboo
(From Beachbum Berry’s Sippin’ Safari)

  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce orange juice
  • 1/2 ounce grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 ounce passion fruit syrup
  • 1/2 ounce dark Jamaican rum
  • 1 ounce gold Cuban rum
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 4 ounces (1/2 cup) crushed ice

Put everything in a blender and blend at high speed for exactly 5 seconds. Pour into a bamboo mug or tall glass. Garnish with a mint sprig.

From the personal notebook of Mariano Licudine, circa 1960.

I like to make a larger version by just doubling the proportions.

Okole maluna!

Thanks Hurricane!

That sounds deliciuos. Suggestions for a cuban rum substitute? I have two bottles of Havana Club but can't bring myself to open them.

H

Rockydog you can substitute with any of these rums.
Flor the Cana
Bacardi Anejo
Bacardi 8
Barilito 3 star
RL Seale
Cruzan Estate Dark

If you still have it, or just wanna try this with any other dark rum.

this is a drink I made in Canada, when I got a bottle of 7 year Havana Club.

3 Oz. of dark rum
1 heaping table spoon of dark brown sugar.
1 Oz. of Lime Juice.
1 Oz. of Lemmon Juice.
1 Oz. of soda water.
huge sprig of mint, slapped around quite hard.

my friend and I had 4 each.
then a storm came in, needles to say, it was a rough nights sleep.
