Moai Cast Iron Andirons

Pages: 1 3 replies

Does anyone have any info on these andirons? Made of cast iron.

Mahalos!

Never seen those before, but they're pretty cool.

The Moai were carved between 1250 and 1500 AD. I'm thinking these andirons were not from the same time period because the Rapa Nui did not have the technology to cast iron at that time.

I'm just jerking your chain brokensquare  Welcome to Tiki Central :D Very cool find, what's the story behind them?

Mad Dog, great response! ..these were found at an estate sale. DC area is actually a great source for tiki. Lots of mid-century suburbs as well as world travelers.

I'm a tiki fan and I like to drop in to TC every once in awhile to read posts, but I'm looking to be more active in the future.

I have a rad tiki bar on my deck in DC, i'll post photos.
