I will be in Vegas this comign weekend, and want to see some of the local tiki sits, and meet soem Tiki Central Ohana...

Anybody up for Friday or Saturday evening? I will be having business dinners, but would like to have cocktails at least, at Taboo Cove one night, 9-10pm.

Anybody gonna be around?

I'll be in town with Johnnie Velour for his bachelor party, but I don't think we're the folks you want to hang out with. Well, not THIS time, at least...

i almost forgot - MTKahuna is supposed to be in town staying at the Embassy Suites near UNLV. from today through Monday.

I have this crazy idea to attend Tiki Taix in Echo Park, then drive off to Vegas after that (that night - if we leave at midnight you can be there by 4am or so...). Again my offer stands to anyone wanting a place to crash in Sin City...

What would be the plan of things to do Tiki? I have been to Vegas a million times but never really doen the local Tiki thing.

Should we just say we will meet Sat night at that Shag bar at the Venetian? like at 8pm? Any ideas welcome.

I am probably staying at Green Valley, or Palms, its not settled yet. I am at the mercy of the work.

I've only been to Taboo Cove once, but we had a great time when I was there. It's definitely worth a look, especially with all those Bosko carvings and mugs. Just don't expect to hear exotica and stick to the classic drinks and you'll be swingin' baby!

You'll be in good hands with Futura Girl.

I am going to have dinner w/ a future potential co-worker at the venitian tommorow, at like 7:30, then we are going over to taboo cove, etc...probably like 9:00/9:30...I told him there was this Tiki thing happening too, so he may come along...what I didn't tell him, was that I belong to a secret cult, and am meeting people that I don't even know!!!!

I agree - that was too fast and too furious; you definitely should have stayed longer! I hope you got to appreciate the decor of Taboo Cove, despite the deafening music and way-too-sweet drinks. I opted out of 'going to the library' as it were, and instead I hung out with Futura Girl for the remainder of the night/morning. She took me to a few places, including her "crash pad" - man, a party there would be worth the drive from L.A.! (As soon as the weather warms up, that is...) We certainly would have enjoyed your company, and if you're going to be in Vegas for any stretch of time, FG is definitely the one to ask about ANYTHING!! See you at Oasis!

so, it was great to see everybody and to meet futuragirl! dr. Z, the cove was great, i was sad for Venus lounge though...not so much shag...it's a shame the place is not open to the casino, i think they would get more business, it's strange that you have to go outside...

i am going to be working here for the rest of march then i am going to japan for april...ah, cherry blossoms!

when i come back in may i am going to move to vegas for a 6 month trial period...then i will see where it goes. i will be subleting the inkpad, and russell will attempt to run his post long distance, a la stentiki!

i will miss my nyctikicentral family and culture, just when it was really getting rolling!

Lady V and I will be back in April for Viva Las Vegas as part of our honeymoon. So we'll see you then!
