Mai Tai's in Waikiki???

What a great review - thanks, Kevin!

I've not been to Waikiki, only Maui, but I can say that without a doubt the strongest mai tai I've had whilst visiting was the Monkeypod version. Those things got me completely pissed; thank god we were (literally) within stumbling distance. Absolutely brilliant.

We visited Lava Lava Beach Club the hour before closing, and were seated outside on the lower patio. Seemed like a great atmosphere.

It was super nice before the seating was pulled back. The regular tables used to go well beyond the patio and out under the trees, and beach-lounge chairs with low tables all the way out under the gas torches. There were also reclining beach chairs scattered around on the edge of the surf for long after-dinner naps. ;D Going to LLBC used to be my birthday present every year, and the highlight of the trip for anyone that was visiting us. The LLBC Goodie Jar dessert was my "birthday cake". Ahh, the good old days...
