I was wondering if anyone could give me some information about this piece. I just returned from Bora Bora but could not find the proper souvenir. I looked at my local market place and found this piece for just 20 bucks. The seller did not have a story behind it and resells stuf he or she bought at thrift shops. I did some research on this forum but could not find anything similar. Found out it is "the eater" a cannibal related wooden figure. Bora Bora carved in the back but no dates or anything. You already posted about this in two other threads yesterday and have now started another new one asking the same thing. You need to read the rules, specifically numbers 6 and 7.

To answer your question, you've pretty much answered it yourself. It's a tourist piece, of 'the eater' most likely carved in Bora Bora. I don't know what other information you are seeking, but if it is its age, who knows? The only way you'll ever know that is if the original owner told you when they bought it.

It is a tourist piece I am sure but as to actually having been to Bora Bora, I can tell you that anything from there is extremely rare. It is a tiny tiny tiny little island.
