I've been trying to determine which classic Tiki venues had full-on Polynesian revues. I know that the Mai-Kai kicked theirs off with the Mai-Kai Islanders Revue in '62, but I don't know if Don the Beachcomber, Trader Vic's, or any of the other early ones happened around the same time. Does anyone know? |

Disneyland used to, as did the Bali Hai in San Diego, Madame Wong's in L.A.'s Chinatown. I'm sure there were countless others, some more "authentic" than others. [ Edited by arriano on 2024-01-30 09:48:18 ] |

Don the Beachcomber's in Waikiki had constant live music and Polynesian shows. In fact there is a segment of Cinerama's "South Sea Adventure" that is shot in DTB, Waikiki. |

I've also found an old Promotional Film made by Matson Lines which has footage of Don the Beachcomber and a Hawaiian feast he presided over. "HAWAIIAN HOSPITALITY" 1960s MATSON HOTELS & NORTHWEST ORIENT AIRLINES TRAVELOGUE HAWAII |
