Howdy -- I've been keeping up this list and map for several years. But sometimes new tiki bars pop up or old ones close down that I miss. Please take a look to make sure I haven't missed anything. Thanks https://foursquare.com/arriano/list/tiki-bars-in-southern-california |

I don't know if you want to include the Mothership and Captain's Quarters in SD? |

Mothership added. I feel foolish that I forgot that, thanks. I'm not sure about Captain's Quarters. I went once and I don't think it really qualifies as a tiki bar. |

Glad to help. I haven't been to either yet, I have heard them called Tiki bars but we both know that doesn't mean anything LOL |

But Mothership is? ;) You might wanna consider adding The Lucky Tiki soon, as it's reopening some 20 years later in West Hollywood. |

Glad to hear about Lucky Tiki. But haha, yes I'd call Mothership a tiki bar -- although with an unusual theme. I think the only thing really "tiki" about Captain's Quarters is its sister bar next door. |

there's ANOTHER NoHo tiki bar?! https://www.thecantiki.com/ Crazy, that's literally right near Kahuna Tiki. Imagining that whole stretch of Magnolia becoming totally tiki-ized. And you've got TikiNo, Kahuna TikiTu, and the king of them all, The Tongo Hut, all within a few miles. Hope the market can support all these. I'll certainly do my part to keep em all in business! Anyone been yet? [ Edited by MrFab on 2024-03-27 12:30:27 ] |

Great list! Way more accurate than others I've found. I see Lime in the Coconut but not X? Although the picture looks like X. I know it's kind of the same place, but people may not know to look for it. [ Edited by Mal on 2024-05-29 13:57:27 ] |

Based on the photos on photos from Yelp and Google, their interior is nothing associated with tiki. The drinks look okay, but personally I'll just add it to the pile of "misses" for tiki in LA. I always get excited for new places and they almost always don't deliver. |

There's a CanTiki a few miles away in Glendale too. 1300 S. Brand Blvd., Glendale, CA 91204. Anyone been? Are they related? Are they any good? |

Looks to be the same, with the Glendale location being available or for sale. |

There is a new tiki bar called The Hula Hula Room. It just opened in Spring 2024 and it is in Torrance California. It replaced a dive bar. They are more of a modern tiki vibe but the drinks were excellent |

Cantiki moved from Glendale to NoHo. The last location wasn't really tiki, except for the drinks, but hospitality was pretty good and I liked their unassuming vibe. |
