Hi I’ve been following the site for years and browsing and reading and enjoying the amazing research done here. I live in Los Angeles, which is luckily a Tiki hotspot or at least it was. I decided after doing some dropship shirts for my other business that I wanted to make some for other things that I love. I’m sure the market is saturated with tiki shirts. But I wanted to make it an experience called tragically tiki. Or every two weeks a new tiki bar or restaurant shirt is released with the story and a tag. I’ve already put a lot of time into some of the designs by just looking at photos of match books on eBay and trying to scan but thus far it seems, I’m going to have to buy some in order to get a better scan to make vectors ! If anyone has any advice here on where to look or past success with scanning to use for new shirts or other gear, let me know. TY ! |

Good luck, and have fun doing this! Pardon the unsolicited advice… You will have to consider exhibiting at tiki events if booth prices are reasonable. There is quite a bit of interest in tiki and retro, so non-tiki channels (fairs, flea markets, etc.) are also worth exploring especially if you can feature tiki venues specific to the locale. Even vintage extinct non-tiki venues can help boost your bottom line and help keep it profitable. |
