Hi! I will try not to ramble too long but basically my lovely boyfriend really loves tiki and I would like to find a real Witco piece if possible for him as a present. I have about zero knowledge about this but my friend sent me this forum. For example, would this item be considering authentic? Not sure what I should be looking out for: or this one? https://ebay.io/m/Qww4uk Thank you for any advice and knowledge!!!!! |

I am far from a Witco expert, in fact, i personally don't care for it at all (besides some specific pieces), however i do believe that the cat is definitely Witco and i'm pretty sure the other piece is so also. I do know that Witco never really 'marked' their pieces which would help identify them, although the type of hooks to hang them can generally help identify them. Having said that, i found a couple of pieces years ago i was led to believe were Witco because of the hooks used, but was then informed by a family member that they were made by a former employee who went off on their own making similarly styled work, so what may be, might not be. |
