I was wondering if anyone knew of places where I could get things to hang from my ceiling like old lobster traps and things of that nature that are not too costly. |

Don't know how far you're willing/able to travel for this stuff, but there's a great nautical swap meet at a marina along the road from Monterey to Santa Cruz. Boat bums from all over the place pick this stuff up on their travels and sell it there to pay for gas to move on. I got a huge block and tackle for $10, lots of used rope (excellent for decorating) for like a penny a foot, pullys, used fish netting, cleats, etc., all dirt cheap. |

Cool link, docwoods ( http://www.nauticaltropical.com/ ) Here's another site with much the same stuff: and down in the OC is this place: and here in wonderful San Pedro (just up the coast from you) is Tally-Ho Marine surplus. My friend Allen supplies nautical "junk" to hollywood (think Hook, Hidalgo, etc.) and is always chock full of blocks and tackles, line, fishing net, cork floats and great converstaion. Not all of his stuff is cheap, but then again, not all of the stuff he has will fit into your house either! Last time I was there he had a full size harbor bouy! btw...that nautical swap meet sounds AWESOME! When is it? |

TM, I travel up and down the coast from Santa Cruz to Monterey almost every other weekend. Where did you see this swap meet at? Sounds like something I really need to check out. Thanks |
