Yet I still get carded all the time, and have to sit through "I would have NEVER guessed you were that old!" Don't know who feels older, me, or my Mom knowing her "kid" is 30. |

You're complaining that you don't look older?! What are you still in High School or something??? J/K -- hey, consider that a blessing. It's all downhill from here. The only "significant" birthdays for you now are 40, 50 and 65 (so can start collecting Social Security - which of course will be gone by the time you're at the age to collect it)... Happy Birthday. :) |

1st of all, happy birthday! have a drink :drink: 2nd, you can go nuts if you compare yourself to parents etc. life was different back then :) my parents were married at mom 18/ dad 21, and that wouldn't a worked for me... another great thing you can do once you get into yer 30s is start to complain about kids in their 20's :) 30 is great! rock on! j$ |

I have to agree with Johnny. The actual day 30th hits is really bad, but after that it starts getting better again. You can laugh at teenagers, reminisce about how good music used to be etc etc |

Well, nothing you can do about the passing years. Just keep living and enjoy the ride. Sort of reminds me of a Zen quote "life is a bridge, don't build a house on it" |

Happy birthday, badmojo So far, I've enjoyed my thirties - it's like embarking on a new voyage of discoveries! We've experienced a lot up until now, but there's still sooooo much more to do and learn! The way I look at things is age is relative - mentally, you are as old as you want to be...until your body starts telling you otherwise! |

Badmojo! Happy birthday! I know exactly how you feel. I just turned 34 on Sunday, thankfully I still do get carded, todays music sucks, college students are kids, things really were better in the old days, and I have generally just turned into a grumpy old man..... and I LOVE IT!!! One of my favorite movie quotes.... -T.J. |

Your 30s are great cause you now have money to do things that you didnt have in your 20s, the only problem now is to watch your health more, you dont bounce back as fast as you did in your 20s. Tbird. |

Well, if nothing else, I'm a few hundred dollars richer, and you guessed it, in $30 increments. Not to mention 2 Canoli platters, and 2 leftover Pizzas. Could have done alot worse. Now, lets see how much B-Day $ I can blow this weekend here: Thanks for the support guys. Made me realize what a bunch of Old Farts you all are! |

I turn 40 on the 17th. I am thinking this might should be the birthday that does not include drinking for a change... |

Happy Birthday! 30? OLD? Hahahah! PLEASE! My birthday was a couple days ago and both my parents had to (SERIOUSLY) ask me "how old are you now anyway?" I love my 40's ... past the halfway point now. PS...Oh yeah I still get carded too! [ Edited by: susane on 2004-05-06 00:50 ] |

Hah! I havn't heard that song in ages. It's off the Martin Mull (& his fabulous furniture) album "Normal". Came out in about 1972. This song is Mull's take on "the white man's blues" growin' up on the Ohio River delta. My favorite song on that record is "Drunkards Waltz" (which as I recall...I danced to on my 30th birthday). |

i turn 30 next year, i think... i better cut off a limb and count the rings. I look forward to being 30, it's not like i cna stay in my 20's for ever. though i did rack up many a ***** in my days before settling down. i don't have to worry about hair loss, it isn't going anywhere. i have been trying to watch my eating habits, but the one thing i guess i can say i loved about my years as a 20-something.... building up my drinking tollerance to i can bet frat boys on how many pitchers i can hold. |
