Who's it gonna be?

Who's it gonna be, Californians, the Terminator or the Germinator? http://entertainment.msn.com/news/article.aspx?news=130604 (Note to Hanford...strictly, strictly a humorous post!)

Hey Dave!

After seeing the prelims tonight, I'd say Miss Teen Nebraska. I just don't think Arnold can handle a bikini and the Joan Crawford spiked heels all at once.

Have you heard who else is "running?" Once again, California will look like a freak show to the rest of the country.

Mahalo!

"...'Whachutalkinbout, Casey?"

Larry Flint is running also. I can only imagine the 'cabinet' he would pick if elected.

Let the circus begin.
God save us.

no comment.

I think we need to bring the Republicans before it gets any worse - and I'm registered with the Green Party! Before I forget - you guys know about the car tax, right? Everyone's car registration is going up 3 times the amount for next year - thanks to Davis. I understand both Arnold and McClintock have vowed to get rid of it if they get elected. That would be nice - I drive a 12 year old car so of course I will only go from $50 to $150 maybe but some of those in California have run out and bought big expensive SUVs on zero financing and they are gonna be looking at like $1000 to register their cars! But back to who to vote for, I am leaning towards Arnold because even though I think McClintock would do a better job, he is virtually unknown - I think many Dems will cross over and vote for Arnold and even though he is quite a liberal on social/spending policies, he supposedly still stands for some Republican ideas like fixing the taxes and doing something about Worker's Comp - he might be the best chance we have to get the Repubs in the governor's mansion. California's got alot of problems and I think most of them mean we need to see some deep cuts in social spending - this means we need a Republican to get in charge. Any comments?

I refuse to get involved in this discussion.

HP- we need to not be talking politics here. However I'm going to have to say two things:

  1. The Vehicle License Fee: Is returning to the level it was at only 5 years ago. The legislation that reduced it in 1998 carried a provision that the VLF could be increased again if there were insufficient funds available in the General Fund to continue to support the discount. That was built into the 1998 decision from the very start, before Davis took office. We've just had it good for a while here. There (obviously) is no money anymore. I'm going to feel this REAL hard as I have a 2002 car. (Fact section ends/Personal opinion begins here:)Personally, I accept it as a way to help out the state budget and as the price you pay to drive in the most beautiful state in the union. Remember: Driving is a privledge, not a right. If you want to save money, drive in an ugly state.

  2. FAR more important point:

Without taking sides, let me just say this: It's easy to get caught up in all the drama about the recall election, but here's the important thing: Please, please, PLEASE take this election seriously. The problems faced by this state are vast. This really isn't a big joke, no matter what it looks like. Please seriously consider the candidates and their platforms and make an informed decision when you go to vote (and PLEASE vote). Do honestly what you feel is right for the state and vote with your head.

OK, I guess I am saying this: DON'T throw your vote away on Gary Coleman or a porn star. It's way too important to fuck around with.

Sorry to lay my heavy trip on everyone.

Hanford needs to run!!

I want to watch Schwarzenegger, Coleman and Flynt debate each other on C-SPAN.

D

You might as well through Jack Grisham (TSOL) into the mix, I heard he was running too.

I'm gonna bet my money on centrist Arnie winning, and I've been right on for three straight elections now..... That's gonna be hilarious if it happens...Conan the Govnerian! Flint- maybe....Coleman-I'm sure he's a nice enough guy, but he has a better chance of getting back on the "A" list, and that ain't good:)

Don't underestimate Angeline. I sense behind that cotton candy, airhead exterior throbs the brain of a cold, calculating political preditor bent on world domination.

Schwarzenegger is an idiot, but I got to say, I like his campaign party hat (above photo)!!

A Tiki Cheers To You!

He did manage to take one of the worst resturaunt ideas I've ever heard and along with Bruce Willis make it actually profitable...Gotta say a little something for that..but I dunno...That bodybuilder in Minnesota hasn't done so hot. Vote Ghallagher!! Gov-O-Matic!

He's still alive? God, I was just listening to them on my way to the beach this weekend. Revenge.

Martiki you are right - I have rethought this situation - all the Dem voters are gonna vote for Bustamonte - Bustamonte IMO is just more of the same (ie Davis) but worse - as much as I would like to support Tom McClintock - if the Republicans vote gets split between McClintock and Simon, we will lose to Bustamonte - best to vote for Arnold who I think will get alot of Dem votes. Repubs just can't win anything in this state unless they get some Dems to cross over and vote for their candidate and I think Arnold is the only Republican outside of Riordin that could garner Democratic votes. My husband refuses to vote for Arnold because he is a movie star, but I am going to have to show him that we (Republicans/conservatives) have no choice.
