This is Slim...a buddy of mine found him up in San Louis Obispo.

This is Porto. He's around 3' tall and quite sharp. The first time my wife and I touched him he drew blood from both of us.
Until recently, he lived in the backyard of an elderly couple in Westminster CA. The couple told us he was in the backyard when they moved into the house in the early 80's. Their yard was totally decked out in tikis, surf and tropical decor but over the years everything else decayed and was eventually thrown out. This guy was the only thing that survived.

I believe he may have been carved in the South Bay at Mike Gildea's shop. His eyes, nose, mouth and tongue I've seen in other old Gildea carvings. I read in an article from the early 60's that Gildea brought in a fella named "Dave from Malibu" who specialized in stone, so maybe it could be his work. I'm still digging around for info...

This fella is 6 feet tall and concrete.

I found this little guy recently out in Lake Elsinore...a few blocks from Danny Balsz The Tikis. Carved from feather rock.
