How do you get thick bamboo to curve like that?

S

Don't know...water + heat?
Maybe someone will know...

(Now, now...be nice, finkdaddy!)

Jerry, there is no 'bamboo' on this bar...anywhere. What you are looking at is a RATTAN bar, buddy! Could be 30-50's...could be reproduction. What's the history?

S

It's likely not a reproduction...not sure of the history but likely from an old New Orleans estate...I found some swizel sticks in it from long closed restaurants.

So if it's not bamboo but rattan what is rattan made of?..

Okay...I gues it's Cane (rattan) rather than bamboo which is hollow...this is solid.
they seem to be related enough to resemble each other.
I quickly found this site which explains there difference....thansk for the replies.:
