I've had this old ad hanging on one wall or another for more than fifteen years.
Whoever painted this knew his way around watercolors.

I stumbled upon the 1952 movie classic "Blackbeard the Pirate" on TV a few months ago and am thoroughly convinced that this movie is soley responsible for cementing the utterance "ARRRRR" into everyone's pirate vocabulary. If anyone feels up to taking on an "extra credit" project, I would really be interested in knowing how many times the man who played Blackbeard said "ARRRRR" in this movie as a punctuation to nearly every line! Of course Blackbeard was a real pirate who terrorized the Carribean waters in the late 1600's / early 1700's. His flagship "Queen Anne's Revenge" was discovered in the Beaufort Inlet in N. Carolina (shipwreck# 0003BUI).

In the X box game "Pirates, the legend of Black Kat" There is an entire photo album of conceptual art used for the game that you can check out at any time. The art work is killer! And there are some really cool pics to see.
There is also a bunch of pics that you have to play the game in order to get a peek at them. There are magical shell scattered throughout the islands that unlock the pics when you find them.

See my post about the game here:
