2 of the Haole Cats came over last night and what a swinging time. Those Cats can puhhhh-LAY. That resonator guitar is one of the sweetest sounds I've ever heard. The drinks were refreshing. I can't wait 'til next time. |

Pablus, We definitely need to make this a regular thing. What a great way to make new friends and share the beauty that is music...particularly Uke music. There's something about those little things that gets me smilin'! I'm glad you dug the tuneage and the charts. I'll get those cleaned up over the next few days so I can pass them on. Any chance of getting a few more folks involved? Joe should be able to make it next time, so we'll have percussion, and I'll bet TJ will drag the Upright out...now we're talkin! Thanks, bro! Josh |

Toa - you left out "...and drink it." We had an original Basement Kahuna concoction last night then some mild painkillers then test pilots. |

Yo Pablus -- many mahalos for the great Hawaiian Hospitality! My head and liver are still undecided, but the rest of me sure had a good time. :) I was hangin' hard until my gig last night. Ouch... Next time, I'm drinking FOUR glasses of water for every alcoholic libation! Those concontions you created were just WAY too good. Thanks for the kind words, but you guys were nailing those changes, and yeah, next time I might have to bring the ol' doghouse out. URB, ukes, resonator and archtop -- it don't get more authentic den dat, braddah! Please tell Darrel and Russ thanks for us, too. It was fun meeting them. That bari that Russ had was OK, but intonation is always a bit of problem with those cheaper ukes. For about $200-300, he could get a pretty decent bari, and for about $400-500, he could get a nice mahogany Mele (like Josh's) baritone, or their 6-string "guitarlele." They are supposed to be fantastic. He can check 'em out at http://www.meleukulele.com I'm considering ordering a mahogany concert with installed pickup. Thanks again for the fun time! |
