Mystery Tiki ....Help

Pages: 1 2 replies

I found a Tiki of some sort in a Goodwill, made from a very rough, porous like material, (dark gray in color with very tiny glasslike flecks throughout), in the shape of a head. Not overly detailed however distinguishable eyes, nose and mouth. The only thing inscribed on the smooth backside is Mexico. If anyone can shed some light I would appreciate your input. Pictures available.

Top to bottom 5 1/2 inches and 5 inches across.

Thank you,

The material sounds like pumice, which is easily carved, is the image maybe Aztec, Mayan or Olmec inspired?
