Country & Western Sunday

Pages: 1 2 replies

Every now and then I like to start my Sunday morning off with a musical selection of country & western music. Not that new country crap you hear on the radio, but the real deal. It's my version of goin' to church. This morning's sermon is: Seeds & Stems-Commander Cody, The Christian Life-the Byrds, So Doggone Lonesome-Johnny Cash, Boot Heel Drag-Bob Wills. I close my eyes and envision Gram Parsons in his Nudie finery and I feel at peace with the world again. Amen

Country songs have been my companion on many a white-knuckle, late night drive over trechorous, god forsaken icy roads.

Sometimes singing a medly of everything from "I Want Some Red Roses for a Blue Lady" to "Your Just a Coca-Cola Cowboy" is the best way to pray.

what about Chuck Wagon and the Wheels?
