Thanks for the great comments. My steps are easy I think,,,
The tools I use are
18" gas chainsaw
10" 18volt chainsaw
AIR chesel
4 1/2 grinder with a buffing pad on it and a sanding disc( lets sandpaper be more flexable)
4" angle grinder with assorted discs
8 chisels
2 mallets
Dremel tool
Air grinder with bits...

Ok here are the steps;;;;;

  1. shot of rum
  2. sketch Tiki on paper
  3. Rum and coke
  4. Sketch drawing on log....
  5. Chainsaw all deep and not so deep cuts.
  6. remove bark
  7. Start doing cuts with chainsaw to remove large areas
  8. start shaping with chisels...
  9. get rough ship
  10. Stop walk away
  11. finish shaping
  12. sanding.. I hate sanding
  13. blowtorch deep cuts
  14. I then start playing with stain...
  15. let dry
  16. cover with epoxy resin
