I wanted to use this thread to show some of my tiki works as they come about.

To start here is a work in progress. It is clay and still in a wet stage.

I usually dont go for the brightly coloured tikis, but I really like that one. Its gonna look even cooler when she is fired though.

Man thats cool... I know art, I like it

Looks good Coach. I like the faux wood grain makes it look like a wood tiki. Lets see some more..

Thanks for all the comments...more soon.

Here are 5 tile sets I did a while back. The first for are 4.25 inch sq tiles. the last are appox 2 X 4.25. All tiles are handmade and painted. They could be mounted on board and framed in bamboo or grouted into a wall or tabletop. I have yet to mount them to anything, awaiting a buyers preferance. BTW, is it understood that folks on TC can contact each other about purchasing works posted? These are for sale.

Again, you have mastered the technicolour tii! I really like the way those tiles have come out. i would love to see them incorporated into bathroom tiles on an actual wall.

More photos please!

Are technocolored tikis taboo?

I have been planning some just done with oxide stains rather than glazes.

I am all for the technicolour tiki. However, most of them are garish and ugly. They often look cheap and ugly. Yours are not. Therefore they are not taboo.

The oxide stains sound cool as well

now presented in technicolour tiki. LOve bright colors. Its what I am into at the moment, tiki or not. Your stuff has the feel of what TC memeber -,Beachin, does with the handmade cermanics and tons of bright colors, with I know personal, both take a lot of time and effort. You and beachin should bounce ideas off one another. Nice stuff

artcoach, those are fun. I like the last set of tiles the best.

Damn those tiles are cool.
Those would look great in a bar top.
Are they sealed or glazed to protect the paint.

Hmmmmmm a tile reno for the bathroom could be in order now...

Yeah! Cool idea! those would look great as a bar top. I bet they would even look pretty cool broken and used as a mosaic. Not that you would want to bust them on purpose or anything. Are those fired just like clay?

Chongolio

Thanks for all the positive comments....

Swamp, yes I like the last one best, too.

They have a clear glaze on them, yes. They Are clay painted with underglazes and then clear glaze and fired to cone 04.

Mosaic would be cool if they were to met an unfortunate acident only. LOL

Thanks again all.

Just an update on the ceramic tiki....
I dont like that I went too bright on the underglaze...
I wouldve rather stayed more toned down as in the tiles.
