I know some of you hate it when others post auctions still going on on ebay, but I couldn't keep my fingers quiet on this one. I had to share, I just dig the idea of a 3D gravel wall art lamp, I don't even know what to call it, other than cool!

OH! And I invited the artist to come by TC and check the place out. If he says hello please behave yourselves and show him how nice a place Tiki Central can be

That is some cool work! Very unique too. Thanks for posting.

Those are pretty cool and very nicely done. Real clean– and that can be hard to do with the colored gravel. Incorporating an actual lamp into the design is very clever as well.

It looks like they are doing a contemporary riff on the classic "Mosette" (Get it? Like mosaic?) created by Dan Robbins the inventor of Paint-By-Numbers. We have had the pleasure of meeting him, he wrote a really cool book about the history of PBNs and he's a super nice guy.

Check it out if you get the chance.

Those are really cool!

So colourful, yet still very sophisticated.

Thanks for posting them!

The chick that sells those other lamps has a great web site. She has gravel art kits that she is working on, one of them is tiki. Gravel art seems to be making a comeback...well, here in California anyway.

Oooh...I'm glad I did a search on this topic first...these are SWELL!!! I was going to share the find, too. I collect the gravel art. It's neat-o. Will definitely need to be adding one of these fancy kreations to my kollection.

Those are really cool!
Hey! Didn't someone once mention this website and artwork? http://www.gravelart.com/kits.html
I feel so dumb I know I read about her on some web board and I thought it was this one. I have emailed her a couple of times, as we both share a interesting "How I met my spouse" story, and I love gravel art.I told her that I thought we had mentioned her here so she may want to stop by and check us out. She ran a search, and nothing....oops egg on my face.

She's a real nice person check out her website.

Nope, Atomicchick and exotica59, I think the lady your talking about is based out of Las Vegas. The man (Peter Nelson) who makes these gravel art wall lamps is based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Here's his newest ebay auction...
Damn fine lamps!

I guess that tiki's wearing sunglasses because the lamp is so bright?

Seriously, I love these lamps and hope to get one soon.

D

Sunglasses? I was thinking more along the lines of alien/bug eyes...

If I'm not mistaken the other gravel artist exotica59 mentioned (Suzanna Anna) just joined TC a couple of days ago.
