Wookie Tribal Carvings?

Just saw Star Wars Ep. III today--

Did anyone else notice, during the first scene with the wookies ( It was sort of a "flyover" scene, just before the battle), one of the Wookies on the beach seemed to be holding a club or a shield that seemed to have a bunch of what I would describe as "tribal" carvings on it?

Just grabbed my eye. Living on that beach and all....=)

Yup, looked like a maori design but on some form of sheild.

Yes! I noticed that too. One of the Woooookys also had a small Papua New Guinnea style carving on his chest plate. The staff/ shield kinda looked like the clubs from Papua as well but with a Marquesas isle shape:
