Does anyone know the origin of this lovely lady?

This picture hung in garages back when I was a kid in Detroit, and I've seen it from time to time on novelty stuff. Does anyone know any background on this hauntingly beautiful lady with the mysterious eyes? :) I also wonder where/what anyone else has seen this image on.

Ah yes she is the famous model for the "Green Lady" picture..

(while renewing all these links I discovered the original picture so I've put another more interesting picture in its place, because no one will ever come looking through these dusty time-wasting threads)

Yeah, I know the pic has been around since the late 60's / early 70's, but it looks like it could have been taken in the 40's or 50's.

Maybe she spent time in Burma?
