Hey! I remember going to Trader Vic's as a kid at the Hilton in Washington DC (at 16th and K). This was originally in the late '80s/early '90s. I loved the menus there...excellent fun sketches of native women plying mainlanders with fruit and drinks. One guy (if I remember right) had a big belly that his shirt couldn't hold back, but he looked so happy, and I think he was smiling. Anyone know if this menu exists anymore? I've been to the new Trader Vic's, and the menus have changed. |

Aloha! I've got exactly the old Trader Vic's menu from DC you're talking about- found it on e-bay a while back. I'm not home, or I'd scan it for you- the details are fantastic! (Someday, I hope to scan my collection of old menus... it's yet another Tiki goodie on my project list.) Mai Tai Man are you in the DC area? |

Nope, I'm in the Chicago area, but I'm moving soon to Denver (like within a month). I've spent a week here, a week there in DC, but it's been years since I was there last. |
