Maikai Gents playing in Napa, Saturday, June 11

Howdy and Aloha from the Calif wine country!

News from Otto and the tikievents email tells me that The Maikai Gents
Featuring the Mysterious Miss Mauna Loa will be performing THIS weekend in
Napa. The event is being held at the Vintner's Collective (707) 255-7150,
1245 Main Street, downtown Napa, from 2:00 - 5:00pm (doors actually open at
11:00 am). There is a charge of $25 per person to attend. Hors d'oeuvres
will be served, along with wines from Judd's Hill and other local wineries. Aloha
attire is suggested. Sounds like fun.

I called and added my name to the list, but can pay the admission at the
door upon arrival. I think they just want to get a rough body count
before the event.

I am really looking forward in finally seeing The Maikai Gents perform
live, and help contribute to their CD venture!

Maybe we can get them to play on the other side of the hills, in Sonoma!!!

Remember: Sonoma makes wine, Napa makes auto parts!! :)

This event sounds like a lot of fun! I love Napa (am learning to love Napa wines, but don't tell my Sonoma County "peeps"...)

Hey, Tikiwinebear! Mahalo for posting this and I look forward to meeting you. You know, Napa wines ain't so terrible. Just pour over ice, add a splash of 7-UP, a squeeze of lemon and you just might be able to choke down some of that swill! We'll see on Saturday, I guess.

p.s. Seriously folks, the wine will be of the highest quality and the bottles being sampled on Saturday range in retail price from $26-$70 each. So if the cover charge seems high, at least you know you'll be getting your money's worth! Food'll be good, too.

Hey there, radio fans! Turns out that I'll be talking about this event on Friday morning, June 10 on KVON 1440 AM in Napa at 9:00AM. If you're in range, tune it in!

Great time yesterday! Fine wine, onolicious pu-pus and one hot (quite literally) band! We had a blast playing and chatting with the assembled crowd. So nice to meet Tikiwinebear. A fine gentleman who knows his wines as well as his Hawaiian music. Hope we can do more events like this in the future.

Bottoms up (okole maluna) to the Mai Kai Gents and the Mysterious
(and lovely) Miss Mauna Loa! It was indeed a pleasure to meet your ohana,
and listen to some GREAT music while nibbling on the excellent
spread of pu-pus and sipping your ono red wines (though I did miss my
tiki mug with ice and rum under that warm sun).

We had a heck of a time.. sorry we snuck out between songs, but I did get
to hear Pineapple Princess and My Little Grass Shack in Kealakekua (in double
time!) before I left. Am here in the office with my copy of your CD (The
Wiki Wiki Grog Shop) playing on my PC while I am working on some boring
documentation. The songs are keeping a smile on my face. Thanks for
autographing it for me too!

Looking forward in catching you again soon. This was my first time meeting
anyone from the TC ohana, and I will be watching for the next event,
especially if you will be playing! Unfortunately (but fortunately too), Maui is already booked
this year, so Hukilau or Tiki Oasis will be on my next year's list.

I wanna learn to hula the Hukilau song!!!

Mahalo for a wonderful and fun time!
