Last night we went to check out a show @ Slim's in SF. There's always homeless cats beggin for change all over the place, but the first guy who approached us was holding a tiki mug out for his donations!
Needless to say, I felt inspired to contribute!
Maybe I was feeling that ol 'tiki spirit' you damn hippies are always talkin about!

You should have offered him 5 bucks for the mug!

No no! You should NOT have given him money. You know, he's only going to keep doing it, he's just trying to satisfy his Jones. He's accumulating enough cash so he can get another score. You're only going to be adding to the stash he has, it's a mistake to assist his addiction.

Yep, enough people came by last night, gave him a quarter, and I bet he ran to the library logged on Ebay and bid on another Tiki mug! Such a waste, when there are plenty of shelters and outreach programs, eager to provide a styrofoam cup, a used Starbucks mocha latte mug.

Then again, we are all one Tiki Bob Maoi mug away from homelessness.

amen & hallelujah cynfulsister!

I actually would've offered to buy the mug if it was cool, but it was one of those plastic kona coffee mills treasure-crafty things that seem to show up even more than the infamous leilani mug.
The irony wasnt lost on me tho!

I know the guy you're talking about! He regularly hangs out in the stairwell of the BART station that's on Fifth and Mission. It's just some plain wooden mug but it cracks me up when I see him...
