Don the Beachcomber Bamboo Mug Info?

Anyone got any history/info on this mug? I'm surprised it went for so much and I've got a few mugs in this style with different names. I went home yesterday and checked to see if I had any of these and found 2 in my collection. Not that I want to sell them, I'm just curious about where they came from and how I managed to score two at a thrift store in Canada for cheap.

Any info would be appreciated.

well to be honest that isn't much for a dtb mug. the coconuts usually sell for that or more and they come up on a regular basis. not to mention the bust mugs sell for hundreds.

i've been collecting a while and that is the first one like it i have ever seen. i don't think there is one in tikiquest either. not my personal fave but to a dtb collector it may be worth it.

in my opinion it looks like any other daga bamboo mug and since it comes from the hawaii location i would say it is a later mug.
