I saw it on "Nine on the Town" when they had their top nine (ten?) tiki hotspots in Los Angeles. The other places were all our favorites (incl. Vic's, Tiki Ti, Lava Lounge, Tonga Hut, and even the Lucky Tiki, but alas, no Purple Orchid |

Definitely not tiki. I went a few months back and the food was good, but pricey. We're talking $20-$25 entrees. Damn fine macaroni and cheese and good-sized portions. They didn't have a full liquor license, so no tropical drinks. Other than the Pacific/Asian Fusion Menu and scattered artwork, nothing to distinguish it as even remotely tiki... In other LA restaurant news, they are opening a Roy's in Downtown LA in the next few months.... |
