Spoke shaves...

Pages: 1 2 replies

Here are three different spoke shaves...two are old Marbles shaves made in England in the 1800's, one is a Stanley made in England last year.. All of these are round bottom shaves (they also make a flat-bottomed style, but better suited for furniture making). They are really great for close-in work and removing thin waste from any sort of round stock...I'll show one in use a bit more in the next post...

I have one like the one on bottom but it is not nearly as shiny and new. It was my great grandfather's and is at least a hundred years old.

The thing works great although I'm always reluctant to use it. It mostly sits on a shelf in the living room.

Neat to see someone else here with the same one. I've seen them on ebay also.

Thanks for sharing the info. I think they callem pull-knife as well.

Aloha
E
