Just stumbled across this website, and thought I'd share it. If Dave M. had not hired my dad as general manager after our family freighter line went bankrupt, my dad could have not paid my tuition at the AFI in LA, which allowed me to move and live here, and I might have never stumbled onto the remnants of Tiki culture...:

Anyone own any "Europa" records? I am on the cover (with my brother Oliver) of the 1967 (?) radio play "Police helicopter in action" ("Polizei Hubschrauber im Einsatz") I got to hold a walkie talkie.

I have a few Europa LPs in my collection. Some of the Hawaiian ones are great. I also have a Tijuana Brass rip-off Europa LP (Los Tijuanas Mariachis). I love the budget labels best for some reason.

This guy was the quintessential loud and brash American business man of the 50s, a true SOB...like the guys in the Tiki restaurant in "I am Cuba"...smoked up a storm, could drink 14 Martinis and remain standing...kinda like I imagine Trader Vic like.
I think he keeled over before he hit 60.
