What have you all found to be the best way to 'skin' a Sabal Palm to remove the outter inch or so of fibers? I just spent about two hours with a chisle and only got about a foot of my log done. I tried looking for any posts that might be the same topic but couldn't see anything in search. Sorry if this is a repeat. Thanks, |

Awesome...I'll pick up a draw knife since I'll be doing these without power tools. For the ones I use powertools on I'll break out the chain saw. Thanks for the info! I'll get some pics posted when I get some of these done. I just picked up a dozen 5 foot sections of palm today. Thanks again! |

Have fun with that draw knife.....the saw is the way to go. Benz speakum truth! If you wanna go trad, get some green stone :) Outside of that, nearly everyone uses the saw for at least some prep. -Gman |
