Source for some hard to find Tropicals

Pages: 1 3 replies

Those of you who like to have unusual plants as drinking companions will thrill to hear of a source for them.

Gardino Nursery has incredibly good prices (the page I've directed to shows a hard to find "Madagascar Palm" for example...which is actually a Plumaria)

Different states have different Ag Depts and restrictions, so you may have problems getting them to Arizona for example...but if you like unusual plants, these guys are quite good. (Lots of flowers too)

The time is now to plant your own Rum Jungle!

sorry. but Nope.
It is most emphatically not "actually a Plumaria". Nor is is even a Plumeria.

It is in the same family as plumeria. It is just slightly related to plumeria, but it doesn't even resemble a plumeria.
Which we have here in proliferation, on Oahu, but this desert looking thing, the madagascar palm, we don't have except maybe one in a botanical garden.

Good point...not a Plumeria.
It is just slightly related to Plumeria.

Still quite a find...and like Xanthorrhea (Grass Tree)and Cussonia paniculata (Cabbage Tree) for example...they add a strange and curious "tropical feel" to places that won't support tropicals.

Maybe I can finally find some tropical-looking plants that I can grow in Wisconsin. Thanks!
