Help identyfy carved mugs...

A friend found these mugs/cups(8pieces) at a retro store in stockholm last year. he wants to know more about them, were they are made and so on. I think they look like sovenir cups from hawaii(?) ore at least from the s-pacific area....???
also looks like they were made for wine...
nice carvings anyways!
