Tiki and Egypt - A Wisconsin Connection?

Pages: 1 1 replies

In the spirit of the Da Vinci Code, I bring to you a possible ancient Tiki conspiracy.

While researching the Fireside, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, I visted the Fireside's website (I presume this is the same Fireside as the one that made the Moai-style mug). According to the website's history page, the restaurant was originally built as a pyramid.

In Tiki Quest (page 60), there is a mug that has a tiki wearing an Egypitian headdress. The mug says 'Tiki Aloha Hawaii', but could there be a connection here? Could this mug be from the Fireside, or is there some semi-latent Egyptianness to Tiki? Are fezzes a modern incarnation of Egyptology in Tiki?

To make things a bit more interesting, this thread talks about a restaurant called the Pyramid, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Beaver Dam is a mere 47 miles from Fort Atkinson.

Hmmmmmmm.

This mug is proof positive that ancient Atlanteans built a tiki pyramid at the bottom of Lake Rock, Wisconsin.

Ya dere, hey...Atlantis!
