Mr & Mrs Tiki - anybody know them?

Bought these at an antique store about 10 years ago. 100 bucks for the pair.

There's a Mr Tiki and a Mrs Tiki

Appear to be carved out of Mahogany or Aputong. Very heavy, dense and hard. Finely finished except, you can still see the handsaw marks on the top and bottom of both.

About 3 feet tall and 10 inches across. Not marked. Anybody know anyting about them?
