mai tais and monster ballads at hala kahiki

...hala kahiki has a new jukebox...and it's loaded with heavy metal and classic rock!! no more hawaiian tunes for you!!! i guess it came from another bar somewhere and still had all the tunes in it...you can imagine my embarrassment on saturday night when we took shag there for his first time after his opening at dva gallery....we were all just sitting there talking when all of a sudden the sounds of def leppard came crashing all around us!!! ..we ran for cover!! apparently they have a new sound system too....new speakers everywhere. They also replaced all their old chairs in back with newer, rickety ones and reupholstered their witco chairs in new floral barkcloth.....that's what happens when i don't visit there often enough.
