Experience the Sights and Sounds of the Hawaiian Islands at the Festival of Arts Laguna Beach, CA — The Festival of Arts – California’s Premier Fine Art Exhibition continues to offer its guests cultural experiences that blend with art. On Saturday, July 29th, 2006 from 1pm – 4pm, Hawaiian Cultural Day is once again being offered to Festival patrons! Hawaiian Cultural Day is a special event that features faraway cultures, traditions, fine art & hands-on crafts, music and other Hawaiian influences that are showcased through demonstrations. All event activities are free with Festival of Arts admission. Bring your family and friends to the Festival of Arts and enjoy the authentic sights and sounds of Hawaii. Hawaiian music by Joe Aki and the Poi Pounders will accompany authentic hula dancers with Halan Hula Lani Ola Hawaiian Dance Studio. Enjoy the hands-on crafts of Hawaii. The Pacific Islander Community Council will lead workshops featuring lei making and pandanus bracelet making, along with other hands-on projects and demonstrations. “This special day is an educational experience for both young and old. The entire family will enjoy learning Hawaiian customs, while participating in various art activities,” says Sharbie Higuchi, Festival Marketing and Public Relations Director. Festival admission prices are $7 for general admission and $4 for seniors and students. All general admission tickets to The Festival of Arts —California’s Premier Fine Art Exhibition are season passes. Patrons are encouraged to make repeat visits. Laguna Beach residents with ID receive free admission, as do children under the age of 12. Tickets for Pageant of the Masters are $15-$80 (depending on seat location and night of the week). Pageant of the Masters ticket holders can present their stub at The Festival of Arts front gate for free admission. The Festival of Arts – California’s Premier Fine Art Exhibition runs from July 2nd through September 1st (closed July 4th and August 26th).
