I thought, in an effort to get all of these in one place I'd consolidate my pendant/jewelry photos from the past. Here they are!

thanks for consolidating the bone carvings in one place...I generally dig real big stuff
but I have been finding myself spending more and more time checking out these pics...wonderful
stuff! Everything always looks so damn old...carvings...bones....weapons...thanks BK.

I love my hair ornament. That look so good on my shelf, and a really big oceanic art specialist was amazed to know it's current.
Thanks again BK.

Thanks for doing this - I think there are a few galleries around here that need to be rehosted/reposted for the benefit of newer members such as myself. Nothing is more frustrating than reading a thread full of "Wow!" where the pictures are all gone.
All very fine work BK, and I can see you're as big a fan of Marquesan art as I am.

Dem' Bones iz b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l BK!

Flip-flOp-fLipPp...

Thanks, folks...the intrepid Kahuna is hard at work looking for a studio right now...

Alas...Just found a workshop between Danielsville and Athens! Bigger than the legendary Volcano! Building a full downdraft setup for my bone carvings...just bought a powerful little snail motor from Canada. Time to get to work (now that I have a place I can call work!).

Get to work BK... Hukilau is coming!

J

Spectacular seeing them all together. Grouped together like that really adds to the wow factor. Keep up the work to inspire us.

JP

Aloha BK!!!
Very nice carvings my friend keep up the nice stuff!!!Aloha Mooney

B

YES, if you have More carvings Not shown, you MUST Update it and Keep us up to date. How else can we see how much better you are carving???

Aloha...I'll be taking orders again soon for jewelry (for completion after Hukilau). Just a line to let everyone know!

Aloha Dave! This was a great idea, reposting and consolidating all your wonderful pieces.... As you already know, I love your style. I was looking over the poles, while visiting my yard yesterday :)

That's a great body of work you've got, BK. Ever thought of putting out a book?

Nice, nice, niiiiiiiice!

Thanks, Dav, but Lord, no! I think I'd have to have a few more accomplishments before I ever thought about a book..I think Sam Maloof had a right to write a book about himself, but not me! Leroy Schmaltz, Barney West, Milan Guanko, Benzart, Ed Crissman....now that would make a good book! Eli Hedley-that book's been done, and that's a great book :)

Updated!

B

Fantastic work, Basement K! These two in particular stand out for me.

Very unusual. What's their story?

Thanks, Dav...The top piece is a type of Maori gaurdian spirit called a Marakihau. The second piece is the Solomon Islands god of the ocean, Ngorieru. The way the original petroglyphs of that piece are drawn I had to interpret the flow of it a great deal. That piece is being cast as a pendant for South Sea Arts. Aloha! BK

T

The second is being cast, I think that first one should too.

KK

wow.

what can I say? Absolutely amazing BK. Jeez, its really nice to see what youve been up to!

Just pono! Hey! And I still would love the fid brah! Ill shoot you over my new address soon!

Aloha bruddah!

Fid is yours, Vincent! I saw it yesterday and told my girlfriend "I've gotta get that thing to Cab, man". Just shoot me your new addy and I PROMISE it will be in the mail to you. Aloha.

Good to see it all in one place but which is the latest piece. You Really should do more jewelry stuff, it seems to dredge up your best skills. Excellent stuff Sir!

Updated.

Thanks all..think this is up to date too now. If I find something I missed I'll post. Aloha.

Hey BK, Really Happy to see you spending more time on your cords too. Lookin Pretty tight there chief! What material are you using now, artificial deer sinew? If so that stuff works well adding some beeswax. looks like you are doing that to. last questions, What burs are you using especially on that fine detail?
