I had the great pleasure of seeing this group play back when I was 9 years old back in 1980. From what I understand they still play. Last I heard, Don Ho is still not performing in Hawaii. So, if you get the opprotunity check out the Society of Seven.

Mahalo,

My Mother-in-Law's a big fan of theirs, she said they used to perform often in Chicago?

Just so you know, the guys your mother-in-law loves (the original Society of Seven) moved to Las Vegas about 5 years ago - I think they're doing their shows at the Flamingo Hilton.

The Society of Seven at the Outrigger Waikiki is a sort of second generation thing; younger guys handpicked by the original Society of Seven. Same goofy show - comedy, impressions, singing, and a big set piece - ususally wildly compressed versions of either The Lion King or Phantom of the Opera. Good fun - like I said, goofy, but entertaining. Go see them.

Uncle Don Ho went back into the hospital last week - don't know when he will return to his show.

Yeah. According to a news link in this thread:

...Don was hoping to get out of the hospital on the 21st or the next day. Wonder if he finally got discharged as planned? Hope so. We saw him perform just last month.
