Yma Sumac visits Peru - Tiki Music

During that visit, she received the El Orden del Sol Award, which is the highest civilian award that the Peru government can provide. (Thor Heyerdahl received the honor in 1975!) She received many other awards, along with much press attention. Her website provides two pages of photographs - my favorite one is the one of her at Machu Picchu.
