I thought this might be fun and a learning experience...Just as the title says....Post all currently OPEN and doing business Tiki themed Bars left(old & new) in SoCal...I'll start out with 5 listed below:

  1. Tiki Ti- Silverlake
  2. Purple Orchid- El Segundo
  3. Bahooka- Rosemead
  4. Trader Vic's- Beverly Hills(still open so far)
  5. Puka Bar- Long Beach
Maybe with some luck, Tcrs can frequent bars close to home to show support of the whole culture before they are ALL gone...Possibly discover some bars you've never been to!

Nice reference to these places.

Billy's by the Beach - Newport Beach

The Warehouse - Marina Del Rey
The Galley - Santa Monica (not tiki, but classic beachcomber restaurant/bar from 1934)

I'm stoked about the Grand Opening! But does anyone know if there will be "regular" busniess hours?

Doesn't Critiki do this already. It list all bars everywhere.

Ahh..I'm sorry....I've been to critiki and it didn't seem to be Southern California Tiki Bar specific that I could see?(maybe i missed it)...I just wanted to compile a list of Southern California tiki bars and exclude other avenues of interest such as O.A. in Whittier or Caliente Tropics in Palm Springs since these are not drinking establishments per say(CT has a bar, but I was really looking for stand alone/Bar only establishments). Sorry Humuhumu for your having to repost (I wasn't trying to make double work), but it is highly appreciated! Your site is a wealth of information and I assure you, your research was not in vain! hehe

There may be a Tiki Bar/Restaurant called "Bora Bora" at 3505 Highland in Manhattan Beach.

After further review, while there is a tiki door handle, while there are puffer fish used as lighting, while the menu is chock full of tasty pupus, it is not a "tiki bar," but a 1950s bar and grill with a Polynesian flair. A shame, it is very close to being a classic mid-century tiki bar. Maybe with the right inspiration from some tiki vendors . . .

Best to dine there and then drive down Highland, along the Ocean, to Grand to the Purple Orchid.
