This 10" wooden Tiki statue was acquired by Richard Rawlins, ASC,a cameraman for Gilligan's Island. It was originally to be used in the first season episode "Waiting for Watubi," in which a Tiki statue was the centerpiece of the episode. During shooting, someone from the network decided the statue's breasts were "too obscene" for television, and the item's male counterpart was used instead. However, this piece became an inside joke on the set, and it was used as background dressing throughout the series...
