The doctor in the article, Vernon Ansdell, is my next door neighbor. He has the coolest tiki carving beside his driveway. I will try and get a photo posted of it!

I also used to live in Guam, and once visited every single island in the Micronesia chain with an airport enroute to Hawaii. We had to get out at each stop and wait an hour while they loaded new passengers on. It was very interesting the first two times... by the fifth stop I took a valium... Very third world! And yes, in Yap the women go topless.

Guam has the highest rate of diabetes, and Hawaii is second.
