help identify mugs

Hello, I'm a newby to tiki central and this is the first time I have posted something. I came across a couple mugs that looked familiar but I couldn't find in my books. Can anyone help?


Great find brother and welcome aboard!

Obviously (from the "Isla de Sol" inscription) these are not Tiki in the strict sense, but probably Mexican tourist ceramics based on pre-Columbian art. Nevertheless, they are a fine example of pop primitivism, not out of place in a home Tiki bar, perhaps to be used for Pisco Sours.
Pre-Columbian anthropomorphic pottery displays an incredible variety of strange motifs and styles, here's but one example:

Thanks Uncle Trav, One looks older than the other,but both are real nice looking.
Also, thank you bigbrotiki, I've been casually collecting for the last 2-3 years and some of this stuff is very new to me.
